The Royal Family 5k

My daughter just turned 14 months old and I coincidentally still weigh 14 pounds more than when I got pregnant with her. So rather than buy new jeans to fit my now flabby waist, I vow that I will wear those skinny Calvin Kleins again and I’m going to do it by running because eating salads all day and going to karate twice a week just doesn’t cut it. In fact, my first race will be Disney’s 5k Royal Family Run in Epcot in Walt Disney World on Saturday, February 26th, 2011.  I will be buying a second hand jogging stroller and taking my daughter (the cause of my hormones and weight gain) for the ride of her life in my favourite place on earth!
The Royal Family 5k is part of Disney’s Princess Marathon weekend, February 25-27, 2011. I’m not confident I can run a marathon or even a half by then, so 5k is a good start. Those dates fall right into the range of a booking window for Disney’s Free Dining plan – an awesome promotion being offered right now. My other half, my daughter and I are booked at Disney’s All Star Movies Resort from Friday, February 25th to Tuesday March 1st, 2011 in a standard room, with  4 Day Base Tickets and with the Free Dining Plan for $1,242.30 USD. We were going to spend more and stay at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort in a King Bed room, but for a quick trip, this will do us just fine fine and save us some money for other recreation expenses.

I intend on using our table service credits for character buffet meals. Our daughter will be 18 months old on this trip and I think she might just start to get excited even if she has no clue which characters are who and which Princess kissed a Frog. Regardless, I have big plans for photo opportunities with Cinderella at Cinderella's Royal Table in Magic Kingdom.

We’ll be booking our air transportation from Buffalo. I tried to price flights from Toronto, but the prices were $993.00 and up roundtrip for 2 adults and a lap child while JetBlue would offer us fares at less than $600 flying from Buffalo.

I’m extending an invitation for you to join me. While it is Princess Weekend at Walt Disney World, men are not discriminated against. I’m looking for Sunday morning running buddies to join me in High Park and run with me and my daughter in the Royal Family 5k in Epcot on Saturday, February 26th, 2011. Call me at the office, let’s chat. And if you’re selling a jogging stroller at a good price, call me, text me, email me, I want to talk to you!
